An introduction to Al ain:
Al Ain is a small city, somewhere 160 km away from Abu Dhabi and 120 km away from Dubai. It comes under Abu Dhabi's geographical territory. Its a beautiful place and completely peaceful unlike Dubai or Abu Dhabi which are highly crowded. I had a chance to visit Al Ain few times and liked it each time.
Plan:
I live in Abu dhabi along with my recently married wife. It was friday morning when we had to pick my Brother-in-law from Dubai Airport. We picked him around 7 and returned back to Abu dhabi at 9 am. We had a couple of plans to choose for that weekend; 1) Go to Al Ain, 2) Visit local places like Corniche in Abu Dhabi. My wife was willing to go to Al Ain and as you can Imagine we finalised the option 1 which is to visit Al Ain.
Preparation:
I got up way early that day and was short of sleep so after reaching Abu Dhabi went to sleep for 2-3 hours before my wife woke me up for Friday prayer. Meanwhile she had prepared food and other stuff for us. We were discussing Al Ain the previous night so i had looked into few attractions just in case we plan for Al Ain, Al Ain Zoo was one among those attractions.
Our way to Al Ain and Al Jahili park:
We left Abu Dhabi around 1:30-1:45 PM and reached Al Ain around 3:30 PM. Everyone was feeling hungry so we planned to have lunch. We went to Al Jahili park which I happened to visit second time. Its a very cool and calm place, It was a weekend but i guess people come to this place late in the evening. There were not so many people around there, we had a food wondered what should be our next plan. Al Ain museum was also one of the places we could visit or Al Ain Oasis. We preferred to visit Al Ain Zoo because we had not visited it before.
Al Ain Zoo:
I have a terrible habit of forgetting so I couldn't remember the way where exactly is Zoo. Anyway somehow we managed to reach Al Ain Zoo. We payed 20 AED ticket to enter the Zoo, Initially we went to the left section of zoo which is mostly related to kids. Unfortunately, we had not taken the Zoo map while buying tickets so it was a nightmare to find stuff there. I thought the zoo is only for kids as i couldn't see any real stuff except few birds and kids' playing areas.
Goodness me, Zoo wasn't as small as i thought. It was a big giant zoo. There were so many sections that i couldn't imagine this zoo could be that big. There were tons of Snakes, lots of deers, leopards, lions and more. People were feeding giraffes, there were amazing scenes to capture.
